Major League Baseball has their teams play 162 regular season games, where the NBA plays 82 regular season games. Baseball usually starts their regulaer season around April 1st to the first until the last week of Sept. (playoffs through October)

I think basketball is longer. If you include the post seasons for both up until the finals or world series, basketball seems to take longer. During baseball playoffs the teams don't seem to take as much time between games. In basketball playoffs there will be at least 2 days betweens games.
